Outpouring
This site has been up less than a week and in that time it's had over 500 visitors and almost 80 comments have been left.
My plan is to put the comments in a notebook for Lorie's girls so they can read about their mother throughout their lives.
We all have great stories about Lorie. Please leave your thoughts and stories. It will mean a lot for many years to come.

God bless her family and that they may find some comfort in God. Lorie we know you are in a better place because you have become an angel of God. We will miss you forever.

"In His Time." It is time for Lorie to be in Heaven with the Lord. The one thing we all will leave behind are memories. Will the memories we all leave behind be as beautiful as the memories Lorie is leaving? Praise God for her life!

The best way I can tell you about the Lorie I know....
*She touches anyone's life that she comes in contact with.
*She looks at every situation with a positive light.
*She make you feel like you are the most important person in the room.
*Her smile is infectious.
We love her now and always!

"Safely Home"
I am home in Heaven, dear ones;
Oh so happy and so bright
There is perfect joy and beauty
In this everlasting light.
All the pain and grief is over,
Every restless tossing passed;
I am now at peace forever,
Safely home in Heaven at last.
Did you wonder I so calmly
Trod the valley of the shade?
Oh! but Jesus' love illumined
Every dark and fearful glade.
And He came Himself to meet me
In that way so hard to tread;
And with Jesus' arm to lean on,
Could I have one doubt or dread?
Then you must not grief so sorely,
For I love you dearly still;
Try to look beyond earth's shadows,
Pray to trust our Father's Will.
There is work still waiting for you,
So you must not idly stand;
Do it now, while life remaineth-
You shall rest in Jesus' land.
When that work is all completed,
He will gently call you Home;
Oh, the rapture of that meeting,
Oh the joy to see you come!
"Tranquila en Casa"
Queridos mis estoy en casa,
O, than feliz y luminosa,
Y vino El...El mismo a recibirme
a ese camino tan dificil de andar.
En el Brazo de Jesus me apoyé...
¿Pudo haber duda o temor?
Por eso no deben de sufrir penosamente
Pues les amo mucho aún:
Traten de ver más allá de las sombras terrenales,
Oren para aceptar la voluntad del Padre.
Todavia hay deberes que les esperan
y no deben permanecer inmoviles.
Háganlo ya, mientras tienen vida.
El descanso llegará en la tierra prometida.
Cuando esa labor lleque a su fin,
El mismo suavemente les llamará a casa
A la maravilla de la reunión
Oh, el Júbilo de verles llegar.
I did not have the privilege to have met Lori, but I am sure that I would have enjoyed her friendship, as much as, I have enjoyed her sister Carmen's friendship. Carmen, please know that you hold a special place in our hearts and know that I admire your dedication to your sister. Everytime you talked about her, I could tell how much she meant to you and how much you loved her. You rushed to be by her side leaving everything behind and I am so sorry she has been taken from your life. Our prayers and our hearts go out to Lori's family and the Vaquera family. Be strong and be safe.
On our knees in Prayer your friends from New Mexico:

Lorie had a special way to make you feel like you were the most important person in the world. No matter how small the task was that you helped her with she would heap more praise on you than was necessary. I never once saw her have a negative thing to say about anyone. I saw her glorify God in everything that she did. She made you feel great about being a Christian. Her parents/family have to be some incredible people to raise someone like her.
I will keep her family in my families prayers, because that is exactly what she would have done for mine.

When my daughter who is 10 realized who I was referring to when I reported on Lorie, she was devastated. She couldn't believe the person at the office who always took time to make her feel special would not be around. I would like to share with you, how I explained Lorie's departure from us.
Lori touched everyone, she ever met, in a positive, authentic, caring, and giving manner. She was an angel on earth, but being here in the flesh limited the number of people she could actually impact, because as a human we can only be physically in one place at a time. GOD recognizes her abilities and will use her as a SUPER ANGEL to help answer prayers all over the world. When my daughter asked about her daughters, I knew she was questioning my own mortality. I tried to comfort her by telling her how wonderful their father, Lorie's husband, was and how they were blessed to have a dad with the same passion and drive as their mother. And all of us were blessed to have been a part of Lorie's life. She taught us how to be glorious, humble, diligent, and faithful. Through her absence, she is looking to all of us to step up and take on some of those resposibilites, but it will take all of us to fill the void.
I'm not sure this eliminated the hurt my daughter, or any of us are experiencing, but I hope it help ease the pain.
Thank you Lorie for being an inspiration to us all. And thank you for giving me the strength to help my child understand your departure. We will ALL miss you.
-Tey
An Inspiration
You could always tell when Lorie
got to grandma's house. I remember running to the front door wondering what all the commotion was. Loud laughter and a grin on everybody's face was a normal reaction from her visit. Lorie
I thank you most for showing me I didn't need to be afraid to leave home and try new things. I also have to thank you for taking care of us kids and always letting me have a turn.
We will remember you with every smile.(cousin)
Lori, I love you... You are a precious woman and it's a privilage to know you. God be with you and your family and friends and give them the strength to get through this difficult time. We all know your faith and love for God is strong and that gives us so much comfort.
Sincerely,
Lorie's absence serves as a reminder to me to appreciate every moment we have with friends and family; life is fleeting.
I don't think there are enough adjectives to explain Lorie's overwhelmingly kind spirit. At work, some of us knew Lorie because she brought everyone donuts on Fridays and made sure everyone's birthdays were celebrated. Some of us knew Lorie primarily through sharing stories about our kids and family - she loved hers SO much. Some of us knew Lorie through working with her closely on a daily basis. Although the extent of our relationships with Lorie may have differed, it is clear that everyone cherished her as a wonderful, genuine human being and friend. Like a bolt of lightening, this loss has shaken our souls to the core and this brand on our hearts will remind us every day to be the kind of person Lorie was. Through God she will continue to touch each and every one of us. This brings me some comfort and I hope that in time it will comfort her family as well - I will continue to pray for them that they may once again find peace and happiness.
I love you, my friend.

I did not know Lorie as well as the rest of you. I am posting because if a scrapbook is made for her girls like stated then I want them to know how very special their mother was. I had the pleasure of working with her during an employee move here at DTAG. Every encounter was pleasant. She always had a smile on her face and a giggle in her voice. Her spirit would light up a room. Even though we didn't work together on a daily basis she always said hello to me everytime she saw me. She had a kindness that I will remember always. Lorie will be greatly missed.

Lorie started her career with Thrifty in the reservation department and I can tell you she touched us all with her love and infectious smile. She will be truly missed and never forgotten. Lorie never forgot a face or a name and she was always there with a hello and a big hug. Our hearts and prayers go out to her family in their loss and may you be comforted knowing what a difference she has made to those that she came in contact with at DTG, and that she will truly be missed.
Sincerely,
Kathy Collins
We have talked to Carmen everyday since Carmen called and said she was headed to Tulsa. We know Lorie is in a better place, a peaceful place and is helping to look over all of us and her family. Lorie's spirit will remain with all of us and will live through her girls. I am positive that they will carry that infectious smile we all remember and love and her positive nature. In her younger years which I remember the most, Lorie was the humorous one, the person that was always smiling, and the person you ran to when you needed someone to defend you. At the time, Carmen and I were two "mocosas" that always needed some protecting!
Its reassuring that Lorie and her family built such a large network in Tulsa.
To her friends, family, and church members in Tulsa,thank you so much for extending your generosity and love to the Vaquera family, especially to Carmen who has been at Lorie's side since day one. For those of us who anxiously await their return to New Mexico and who could not be there these past few days, we appreciate you serving as their extended family from Tulsa. Please continue to help them and look over Lorie's family in years to come.

Aurelio, Faith, & Hannah,
From the first time I met Lorie, I knew she was special. She immediately made you feel at ease and I knew I had a new friend. When I transferred to the marketing department at Thrifty, she was the first person to welcome me to the group with a kind email telling me that she knew I would do great in my new job. She was pregnant with Faith at the time, and a few months before she was born I found out that I was pregnant too. While on maternity leave, I found out that Lorie was pregnant with Hanna. She was so excited, yet nervous about having another baby. We always joked that we never knew each other when one of us wasn’t pregnant, so she wanted me to have another baby too. She was such a good mother, and there wasn’t a day that went by that we didn’t talk about all of you. She always had something to share about her wonderful family or some good advice for me and my family. I always knew that if I was having a tough day, she would help me talk through it and get me back on track.
As much as I loved her and will miss her, I can’t even imagine how difficult it may be for you in the years to come without your wife and mother. The only comfort we may find is that some day you will be able to meet again in heaven. Our time here on this earth is very short compared to the eternity we will spend together in heaven.
Aurelio, I know you will do a great job raising the girls, and they will become wonderful women just like Lorie. We will be praying for strength and comfort for your family.
Love,
Lundy Morrison
Lorie was a special person who will be sorely missed by all who knew her. Her smile and caring attitude were her signatue in life. Faith and Hannah, you can be assured that your mother was loved by everyone who knew her.
